Marky Mark, Ed Norton, and Charlize Theron do their level best to hold together this liberally remade heist classic until the chases, explosions, and robberies relent. But while the slick action and slick actors make for an entertaining trot across the globe, the extras offer all the thrill of a trip to Pizza Hut. After accelerating through the car features, where you can study at driving school with the cast and learn how to handle 32 different Mini Coopers while shooting endless chase scenes, you’ll want to skip town. The rest of the supplements bore through basic making-of featurettes and screenwriters (i.e., the people who should stay behind the camera) talking script development. Leave it to a group of reclusive writers to take the fun out of heists, car chases, and Charlize Theron.
