Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore combine their inimitable per-movie payouts to walk us through the travails of finding a new apartment. But after watching them half-ass their way through Duplex, homelessness doesn’t seem so bad after all. Even if you can endure the formulaic face-offs between a sweet, young couple and an ornery old blue hair, your reward is a paltry seven minutes of equally feeble extras. Three deleted scenes involve more riff-raff between the young’uns and the granny and a brief behind-the-scenes feature finds director Danny DeVito right where he should be: behind the camera. But the highlight comes when an on-set interview with Stiller and Barrymore ends abruptly when the two stars simply walk off. We can only suggest you do the same.
