Back when Kevin Costner could carry an epic, the idea of watching him saunter through the three-hour Wyatt Earp might not have been so offensive, but these days, wed rather ride through Baghdad hooded and pantless. Sadly, the special edition of the lengthy western cant salvage the project, with only two extras on the second disc, both of which are 10 years old. A vintage 1994 TV special hosted by Tom Skerritt (speaking of outdated!) profiles the role of the epic in film history. The new behind-the-scenes featurette consists of interviews with the cast and crew on the set of the movie when they were making it 11 years ago. There are also lifted scenesbut adding more footage to an already plodding three-hour-and-10-minute epic is like graciously offering additional nudes of Pam Anderson on the Internet.
