Forget the softball lobs Dan Rather, Larry King, and Oprah continually toss their subjects, Ali G and his alter egos get the answers we want from the people who matter. Da Ali G Show sits down with real interviewees—Season 1 includes Newt Gingrich, Boutros Boutros-Gali, and Donald Trump—for fake interviews conducted by faker interviewers. There's the title character, Ali G, a wannabe white rapper; Borat, a confused TV reporter from Kazakhstan; and Bruno, the hip Austrian style reporter. Compleet First Seazon has all six gloriously uncomfortable episodes from the show's first run on HBO and also finally reveals the person behind the three hosts on a commentary track by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Bonus clips with Borat catch more cringe-inducing conversations from the Hampton Classic Horse Show, while "Spyz Movie" follows hero Ali G on a typical day of saving the world and hooking up with strangers (which is much funnier knowing he actually pitched this story around Hollywood). There's even an "Ali G Glossary" with terms and phrases so you can fit in with the most respected hot young journalist since Geraldo.
