We don't ordinarily endorse romantic comedies, but Shaun of the Dead has just the right mix of love, laughs, and flesh-eating zombies to touch our hearts. When title character Shaun loses his girlfriend while on the brink of losing his apartment, things look pretty bleak—and that's before the undead take over his hometown. The rest of the flick is nothing but blood, guts, and jokes, and the extras keep pace. The "Missed Bits" section is full of deleted scenes, extended scenes, and outtakes, plus it explains plot holes from the flick in animated storyboards that should satiate even the most die-hard (read: loneliest) film critics. "Flip Chart" heads back in time to compare the movie's original outline from three years ago with the finished flick to see what got cut. Writer and star Simon Pegg offers up his video diary from the set, which includes zombie extras chilling and stars getting bloodied in the makeup chair. And for those in need of more gore, the "SFX Comparison" provides panel-by-panel details on how to impale a zombie, plus early makeup tests with the netherworldly, making this the most fun we've had with the undead since our last trip to Maine.
