We've written volumes on our love for The Simpsons and we're not done yet. Season Five of Fox's best animated show since The P.J.'s sends Homer into outer space, gives Bart a pet elephant, introduces Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel, and is funnier than anything we've seen since Season Four (of The Simpsons, not The P.J.'s). While the unlimited rewatch value of each episode justifies the purchase alone, Matt Groening and pals have crammed in loads of extras for those of you craving more Springfield trivia. Every episode comes with audio commentary from the cast and crew—sometimes they even take a break from snickering at their own jokes long enough to talk about the show—and select bits come with animated commentaries explaining how the show is assembled. If watching the episodes commercial-free leaves you racked with guilt, there are a number of classic shameless plugs for Butterfinger and TGI Friday's. You can also take a stroll down memory lane in "A Look Back With James L. Brooks," which tracks the franchise from Tracy Ulman Show filler to catch-phrase-and-T-shirt empire to your DVD collection.
