For anyone who's ever worn sunglasses when it's dark outside, this anniversary edition of Saturday Night Live's first big-screen hit easily earns a place on your DVD rack. Watching Jake and Elwood flee cops in the name of their Lord is worth the purchase alone, but the two-sided disc also bares plenty of extra white socks, black pants, and blues jams. The in-depth "Stories Behind The Blues Brothers" overflows with raw footage of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi jamming with the band during filming. Mixed in with the impromptu performances are sit-downs with the bandmates and actors where they spill priceless anecdotes about Belushi, the Bluesmobile, and, of course, Illinois nazis. "Transposing the Music" charts the early days when Belushi and Aykroyd crashed SNL band rehearsals all the way up to now, with shamelessly embarrassing footage of sequels, live revues, and impersonators. A light-hearted tribute to Belushi dodges the drugs in favor of the laughs, while "Musical Highlights" lets you skip right to each song within the movie. Now hurry up and score a copy like you're on a mission from God.
