Ridley Scott may have made Alien, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down, but that doesn't mean he can make Orlando Bloom a believable action hero capable of carrying a war epic. Luckily, instead of Bloom's doe-eyed lead, Kingdom of Heaven's extras focus on what made the flick worth watching: massive battle scenes. Both A&E and the History Channel offer a factual perspective on the Crusades that explains why the soldiers were fighting (short answer: God has a lot more to do with killing innocent people than saving Mel Gibson's career). The traditional behind-the-scenes featurette adds a twist by offering three different perspectives: director, cast, or crew. The multiple options reveal on-set footage of battlefield details, helping this two-disc set supply more war coverage than CNN.
