The Constant Gardener

There was only one scene from The Constant Gardener that needed to be extended: Rachel Weisz naked in the bathtub. So, of course, the director decides to give us a full-length African anti-AIDS play on the DVD. Gee, thanks. While The Constant Gardener is an intense political thriller with few wasted moments, the special features on this disc are largely forgettable. Most of the deleted scenes reek of I-went-to-film-school-and-here-are-some-birds-in-Africa scenery, while the special features are just a discussion of said birds. Save your cash and rent this Golden Globe nominee for one viewing only. (Except the Wiesz scene, of course.)
