As much as we wanted to not like this and say it was a blatant attempt at cashing in on tragedy, director Paul Greengrass managed to make a very respectful, intense and exciting real-time telling of the chaos on the morning of 9/11. There's no message or forced sentimentality/heroism, just a documentary-like view of how events unfolded, both actual and estimated. Even though we all know how it ends, it still remains pretty shocking as the FCC, military, air traffic controllers and the passengers on United 93 attempt to figure out what they should do when nobody knew what the hell was going on. While there's some hopeful liberties taken since it's impossible to know exactly what brought the flight down, it provides a valuable lesson if you're ever on a plane that's being hijacked. Just rush the fuckers and pray for the best.
