Lately we've been overloaded with football movies and they've all been pretty good but have been missing one thing: The Rock. He's become one of our favorite movie stars and turns this conventional after-school-movie underdog story into something much more. Based on a documentary, The Rock plays juvenile detention counselor Sean Porter, who forms a football team to give his young prisoners some pride and discipline. Guess what? It works. The extras are run-of-the-mill, and two-hours is a bit too long for a movie where everyone knows what's gonna happen, but it still kept our attention throughout and gave us the requisite chills on our candyasses.
