When the first Sleeper Cell premiered, we thought Showtime had finally caught up with HBO. A show about the inner workings of a terrorist cell is not only volatile subject matter, but really interesting. Then it degenerated into a crappy 24 knockoff, and we were really disappointed. To win us back, we expected a lot for this second season. It does make some strides, but we're still not completely sold. Darwyn is back after spoiling the plot to blow up a stadium. He's getting his life together; but since his cover wasn't completely blown he's called once again to infiltrate a terrorist cell and save the day. The evil terrorist Farik, who consistently steals the show, is in custody being tortured. The show has moments of shock and brilliance, but the cell members this time around are just plain lame, as are Darwyn's government contacts. Not to mention how his cute girlfriend is insufferably annoying and brings every scene she's in to a halt. However, being able to watch all eight episodes in succession minimizes the bad; and the sheer hatred and determination between Darwyn and Farik will raise your terror alert to awesome.
