The 10 episodes of Rome's second season blows the first season away and won us over by upping the violence, sex, betrayal, and overall naughtiness of the former empire. The series smartly focuses on the two best and toughest characters, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, as well as a scheming and creepy ruler, Octavian. We didn't read any of these tales in history books. (Who the hell are we kidding, we've never read any history books on Rome. Wait, is the special edition of Gladiator a book?) We're not that interested in how historically accurate it iseven though the extras taught us more than any teacher ever didbut we're just happy that it was so damn good. Strength and honor, yo!
