If you've ever wondered why the King is still worshipped 30 years after his death, then you haven't seen some of the DVDs listed below. In honor of the greatest performer that ever lived, there's a ton of new special editions to get you up to speed.

Must-Own
The following new special editions blew us away. He was at his peak; so beg, borrow, or kill to get them.

  • Elvis: That's the Way It Is (Two-Disc Special Edition): This could be the best concert film ever made right behind Elvis' '68 Comeback Special. After years of making horrible movies (see below), Elvis hits Vegas and proves that he can still TCB. Includes the original film loaded with Elvis freaks and the special edition, which focuses on the music. When he wigs out on "Suspicious Minds" you'll be wishing you were in the audience. If only to see him practically pass out.

  • This Is Elvis (Two-Disc Special Edition): This never-before-released-on-DVD is a part movie/part documentary profiling his entire life. The fake stuff at the beginning is weak, but once it gets going there are hours of genuine interview and performance footage, some of which can't be seen anywhere else. It also details his decline, including his final performances when he was weeks from death.

  • Jailhouse Rock (Deluxe Edition): One of Elvis' earlier and best movies, he plays a thug (well, a thug by '50s standards) working from the streets to the top of the charts.

  • Viva Las Vegas (Deluxe Edition): Another classic that proves he had some acting skills. Yep, he plays a Vegas singer.

    Check It Out
It's blatantly obvious that Elvis always played the same character. The challenge is separating the bad ones from the really, really bad ones.

  • Elvis Lights! Camera! Elvis Collection:
Eight movies packed up in a neat box. Here's the ranking of movies from good to, um, not so good: King Creole; Girls! Girls! Girls!; Blue Hawaii; G.I. Blues; Easy Come, Easy Go; Fun in Acapulco; Paradise Hawaiian Style; Roustabout

    Just for Laughs
These movies pretty much suck, but that didn't stop our dumb asses from enjoying them for being so terrible.

  • Elvis MGM Movie Legends Collection (ranked from "meh" to "unwatchable"): Kid Galahad, Clambake, Follow That Dream, Frankie and Johnny

  • Elvis: The Hollywood Collection: This has six never-before-released-on-DVD Elvis films...and there's a reason for that. We'll list them out; but make no mistake, they suck. Charro; Girl Happy; Kissin’ Cousins; Stay Away, Joe; Tickle Me; Live a Little, Love a Little.
