It took a few seasons, but The Office has officially declared its independence from the classic BBC version and can stand on its own. We're somewhat grateful to NBC for sticking with this nonconventional sitcom, proving that network TV still has the ability to make great comedy. The main characters—Michael, Dwight, Jim, and Pam—remain the core of the show, but secondary characters really start to step up. Ryan, Andy, Toby, and the rest of the office drones get more involved and steal entire episodes, sometimes with only a few minutes of screen time. Even the special features provide plenty of additional laughs. For a show that's supposed to be about the horrors of office work, we'd rather work at Dunder Mifflin than anywhere else. If only to be closer to Karen. We'd like to place an insertion order with her, if you know what we're saying. (Sorry, that's just the Michael Scott in us.)
