No matter what they do to enhance this movie, we're still not completely sold. Unlike the simplicity of Gladiator or the over-the-top excitement of 300,, this Greek epic is a pretty production where everyone dressed up and fawned over how good Brad Pitt looked in his battle gear. Plus, we can't get over Orlando Bloom playing such a pussy while his older brother Eric Bana clearly steals the movie. This version, while a half hour longer, features more brutality, nudity, and plot, and is better. Yep, this is one of the only times you'll hear us say the three-hour version is better than the shorter one. Based on Homer's The Iliad (no, not that Homer), it's dense material that can't really be glossed over with some body grease and flowing hair. This version at least tries to tell more of a story and give the characters a little more depth rather than selling us on random battle scenes and half-naked dudes. The second disc of extras is pretty much the same as the two-disc version released almost two years ago. Come on, we didn't watch them then, why do we care about them now?
