Meerkat Manor: Season 1

Meerkats are awesome. A show about meerkats narrated by Samwise from The Lord of the Rings? Even better! The show follows the Whiskers, a family of cute little fur balls living in the unforgiving South African desert. Manor is great because it's the reality show everyone wants to see. Imagine if someone actually died on Survivor (hope, hope!). Or a woman on Big Brother got knocked-up only to have the dominant female (i.e. the one that screams the most) kill the baby because she's the only one in the house with mating rights. Or the teams on The Amazing Race had to fight to the death to defend each location…then mark said location with the scent from their butt. Meerkat Manor has it all, without any annoying and horrible humans screwing it up. Each of the 13 episodes are hypnotic. It's amazing how well Animal Planet created a show about a species that's only a foot high and does nothing but look for food, dig burrows to sleep in, and try to get laid. It's not much different than our lives, only we're not nearly as cute.
