The Heartbreak Kid

The Farrelly Brothers get back to being nasty and, thankfully, come closer to making another There's Something About Mary and Me, Myself & Irene as opposed to The Ringer and Fever Pitch. Ben Stiller, who's playing the same character for the millionth time, is a desperate guy who rushes into marriage with a superhot babe (Malin Akerman) only to realize a day later on the honeymoon it was a huge mistake. Lucky for him, the adorable Michelle Monaghan is at the same resort. And the wacky and wild high jinks ensue. A pussy-whipped Rob Corddry and sleazy resort worker Carlos Mencia (yeah, Mencia of all people) steal all their scenes, and it's a breakout role for Akerman, who plays the psychotically annoying bride perfectly. It's no comedy classic (don't bother making space on your shelf next to Dumb and Dumber), but it's harmless mean-spirited fun with some genuine laughs.
