The Skinny: A mix of Narnia and Harry Potter, complete with talking animals and magic. Need we say more?
The Good: The effects are good, especially on Blu-ray. Eva Green of Casino Royale fame is supremely hot as a witch. We'd also kill for a talking ferret.
The Bad: Did you catch the part about this being a rip of Narnia AND Harry Potter? If you're into that stuff, please get a life. If you're not, then feel free to hang with us anytime you want.
Speaking of Harry Potter… Any British actor who hasn't appeared in one of those movies gets jammed into this one. From Ian McKellen to Christopher Lee to Ian McShane(yep, Swearengen from Deadwood is a talking bear), this gives them all a chance to get in on the mystical kiddie action.
Most open ending ever: After devoting almost two hours to this story, we wanted some sort of resolution. But it finished more irresolutely than The Lord of the Rings. At least we knew that was a trilogy from the start and wanted to see the following two... Until we actually saw them and almost died of boredom.
Best Extra: There's a second disc loaded with them, but after that lame-ass ending, we'd had enough.
