The Skinny: By far one of the best and most consistent shows on TV keeps the intensity cranked up in the second-to-last season. Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis), who is more pit bull–ish than usual, has a knack for self-preservation like no other, and continues to do things that shock the crap out of us. The only reason this box set doesn't get a 5 out of 5 is because there are only 10 episodes this season. We know it's not the DVD's fault, but we want more!

If You've Never Watched: Then you shouldn't start now. It's like Lost, only much better, with a lot more cursing. The final season is currently airing on FX, so your wait won't be long. In the meantime, run out and get the first five seasons on DVD. Don't worry, we'll wait…

The Good: It's amazing how a show this complex manages to keep all its story lines so solid. From the gang wars to the betrayal to the unexpected humor. If they keep this pace through the final season, it could be one of the best shows to ever air on TV.

The Bad: Like we said in The Skinny, this season only has 10 episodes, which feels like a cheat. Same goes for Season 5, which was also very short.

Best Extra: One of the keys to this show's success is that the original creators/writers are still heavily involved, and the depth of their knowledge and dedication is perfectly clear in the eight commentaries and behind-the-scenes featurette "Saturn's Sons."
