The Skinny: Another Brit comedy series from Steve Coogan (I'm Alan Partridge, Hamlet 2), Saxondale follows the exploits of a former rock-n-roll roadie dealing with life in the slow lane, and anger management.
The Good: If you don't know the name "Alan Partridge" (or, for that matter, "Steve Coogan") then you need to educate yourself. Coogan is, yawn, yet another British comic for whom the word "genius" just can't quite cover it. Saxondale isn't quite Alan, but it's hilarious and still head and shoulders above nearly anything on American TV.
The Bad: Each individual show kind of has its own mini-story-arc, but the series as a whole doesn't seem to be building towards anything (consider the second season of Ricky Gervais' The Office). But that's ultimately a minor complaint. It's still funny.
Best Extra: Probably the episode commentaries, because Coogan is, again, hilarious.
Buy, Rent, or Ignore: Own thisit's only 2 seasons, so why not take your time and enjoy the ride?
