Finally, the train wreck of a reality show known as Project Greenlight has not only made a good movie, but they managed to create a modern horror and gore classic. It's all due to the ill-at-ease director John Gulager, who has an eye for shooting that reminds us of early Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street) and Sam Raimi (Evil Dead). A West Texas dive bar, filled with a mix of horror movie stereotypes is under siege by monsters picking them off one by one in gloriously gruesome manners. What sets this apart from other straight-to-DVD flicks is its style and ability to re-invent many tired clichés with humor and shocking moments of unexpected violence. It doesn't happen often, but this is one of those rare instances when it should go from DVD to the theater, because this has midnight classic written all over it. In entrails!
