This DVD is full-on, hardcore, no-holds-barred techie porn. While the movie itself was impressive for its groundbreaking use of computer animation, the DVD further drives the point home by showcasing just how much friggin’ work went into a few seconds of screen time. While being innundated with technical jargon and geek speak, the creators and animators take some time out for some fun and games. Check out the Outtakes on Disc 2, it features unfinished scenes in which the animators had some fun (road signs sticking out of people’s heads, blown lines, etc.). Also on Disc 2, click on the Highlights Menu and flip to page two. In the bottom right-hand corner, you’ll see a little box with some animation going on inside it. Click on it and it brings up the Internet-famous “Thriller” video—which proves that long hours and little human contact create some bizarre shit.
