Hard Boiled (Two-Disc Ultimate Edition)

If you've never seen Hard Boiled, then you can't consider yourself a man. This Hong Kong action classic, directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun-Fat, is flat-out insane—only rivaled by Woo's other classic The Killer. Yun-Fat is a badass cop named Tequila who teams up with a badass undercover agent to blast the hell out of gun smugglers. The ultraviolence is artful, culminating with the hero walking through a hospital, surrounded by corpses and blasting away bad guys while holding a baby. Up until now, buying Hard Boiled on DVD was a huge pain in the ass, so big-ups to Dragon Dynasty for not only making it available, but giving it the special-edition treatment with an extra disc full of special features. They've made a habit out of cleaning up martial arts action classics and releasing them on DVD, so be sure to check out their roster.
