The Pitch: Upon uncovering a corrupt senator, loose-cannon cop Mason Storm’s (Seagal) family is targeted and he’s left for dead. Fast forward seven years, Storm’s coming out of a coma, he has a dead wife, missing son, hot nurse (Kelly LeBrock), ponytail and an unquenchable vengeance for the guys that ruined his life.

What It Really Is: Seagal’s second film, which is a lot more fun than we remember. It’s stupid as shit, and it’s more fun picking out the mistakes than paying attention to the plot, but it’s a mediocre snapshot in time. He’d go on to make the much better Marked For Death, and the positively great Under Siege (thanks to Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey), so we chalk this up to the blocky, lumbering action star getting his footing. Of course, he’s made nothing but crap since the mid-90s, so if you’re a Seagal fan, this is almost as good as it gets.

Does Blu-ray Make a Difference? Not really. It’s sort of a grainy mess with a few moments of clarity. Not unlike Seagal's fake goatee in the photo above.
