Bruce Willis puts down the gun and picks up the phone in Hostageluckily it's not long before he picks up the gun again and starts leveling buildings like it's Die Hards 4, 5, and 6. But for a flick teeming with as many killings, explosions, and bald spots as this one, the DVD did little to hold us captive. "Taking Hostage" is a half-assed documentary that rushes through casting, screenwriting, and technical advisors in under 15 minutes. The deleted and extended scenes are available with commentary, but their omissions require little explanation. A commentary track with director Florent Siri tops off the unimpressive additions, at which point you might consider returning your purchase without any further demands.
