Riding a standout performance by Terrence Howard and his gnarly Southern drawl, the underdog tale Hustle & Flow heads deep into Memphis to find a pimp, his hoes, and his dreams. Music plays a big role in the flick, and the extras sit at the mixing board in the studio for two featurettes. "Behind the Hustle" catches Howard working with members of the Three Six Mafia to improve his flow, while "Creating Crunk" sits in for session work with the soul legends, including cast member Isaac Hayes, who helped score the funky soundtrack. There's also a chatty commentary track with writer/director Craig Brewer and "By Any Means Necessary," which chronicles the four-year pitching process that finally resulted in this cautionary tale that taught us there's more to the Dirty South than gold chains, gold teeth, and, for some of the older guys, gold fillings.
