A mixed-up group of animals band together to save a lost child as the ice age approaches in this animated movie for the children. The two-disc DVD packs plenty of extra material, but is still primarily for the kids. Cool features include Animation Progression (toggle from the initial sketches to the finished product before the clip is over) and Making a Character (chart development from clay models to digitally animated creatures). The rest is for the younguns: kiddie games that will only be amusing to the 2-and-under crowd, John Leguizamo- and Ray Romano-led specials, and plenty of extra clips that didnt make it into the movie fill out these discs. Maybe hibernation wouldnt be so bad after all.
