The Skinny: Archeology professor Henry Jones Jr. moonlights as a globe-trotting artifact hunter and Nazi-infuriator. These are the three films that may or may not be referred to as "the good, original ones" after May 22.
Reminded Us Of The last time we bought all three Indiana Jones films; the 40 versions of Star Wars we have knocking around
The Good: The main selling point here is that you can finally buy the Indiana Jones films individually, rather than being forced to buy the original four-disc box set. (So if you were patient and really only wanted Raiders anyway, congratulations.) As a reward, you get a slew of new bonus material that does not overlap with the "Bonus Disc" from the first collection. Most of it is really good and worth watching, if you're into that sort of thing.
The Bad: The films themselves are exactly the same versions already available on DVD. They haven't been remastered or made hi-def. There's not even a "special edition" scene showing Nazis getting eaten by Wampas or anything. Lame!
Best Extra: "The Melting Face" on the Raiders of the Lost Ark disc. Yep, it's an in-depth, behind-the-scenes doc about how they made Toht's face melt off his skull. It's a great shout-out to old-school special effects techniques.
