Check out an exclusive DVD extras clip!
The Skinny: Iron Man, based on the Marvel comic book, is about billionaire weapons manufacturer and jet-setting playboy Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who has to do a serious gut check when he's kidnapped by Afghani terrorists and forced to build a missile. Instead, he creates a suit of armor that, with some refining, turns him into a superpowered hero known as Iron Man. There's a reason this dominated the box office; and it plays even better on your home system.
HD Dream: You have no idea how unbelievable this looks in HD until you actually witness it. We thought it looked good in the theater, but it looks perfect on Blu-ray.
The Good: Watching it again proves this is one of the best comic-to-movie adaptation (damn you, Batman!); it gets better and funnier with each viewing, especially the ability to rewatch the action sequences over and over again; Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, two arty actors we normally didn't give a crap about, prove they're not as snooty as we once thought.
The Bad: If we were to really nitpick, Jeff Bridges as the bad guy is a bit over-the-top at times. But he's still great. Man, we just don't see anything bad with this movie.
Best Extra: There are a ton of amazing features worth checking out, but the seven-part "I Am Iron Man" documentary, which runs almost two hours, is by far the best.
Regular DVD: It's also available as a 2-Disc Special Edition, which has all the same extras as the Blu-ray.
