We’re not sure what’s worse: having to single-handedly raise J.Lo’s child or moving to New Jersey. Proving there is a God, Ben Affleck is stuck with both. The PR hotshot first loses his wife (Jennifer Lopez) during childbirth, then sabotages his career, forcing him to relocate to Pops’ house in the sticks with kid in tow. Unable to embrace his new circumstances, Affleck initially excels at bad parenting. But before we can fall asleep, seven years have passed, and the former big-city shaker is now a small-town road sweeper…and the perfect dad. (Awww.) But he still harbors dreams of crossing the Hudson, and his ambition reaches a boil when he gets an attractive job offer in the city. But can he just abandon life in Jersey with his daughter and love interest Liv Tyler? Seemingly targeting the single-parent demographic and viewers of the WE network, this schmaltzy and insipid drama of the precocious orphan (Raquel Castro) versus the uncouth and reluctant parent will forever (or at least until we move to Jersey) have us wondering why director Kevin Smith (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, Clerks) would touch such alien material. But on the plus side, it does mark the last public appearance of Bennifer.
