As if people weren’t cynical enough these days, the special edition of JFK, Oliver Stone’s three-hour-plus conspiracy epic, is riddled with enough revealing documentaries, insider interviews, and just about anything else you might need to mount your own coup d’état. The “magic bullet theory” is only the tip of the iceberg as Stone builds a startling argument for the government’s involvement in John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Got an afternoon to kill? Check out Stone’s commentary, in which he continues to defend and outline his theories from the movie. “Beyond JFK: The Question of Conspiracy” is a feature-length documentary investigating the questionable details of the president’s murder, “Meet Mr. X: The Thoughts of Fletcher Prouty” offers a one-on-one interview with the man who inspired Donald Sutherland’s character in the film, and “Assassination Update: The New Documents” chronicle the facts that have been made public since the movie’s release. Scary, enlightening, and captivating, Stone’s history lesson tells you what the government probably doesn’t want you to know. And now he has to kill you.
