The best finger-slicing, anal-bomb-exploding, havoc-wreaking revenge flick most people missed last year is now out on a special edition DVD, and it's a must-buy whether you've already seen it or not. Denzel Washington summons all of his anger and murderous creativity as a bodyguard who will do anything to secure the return of his kidnapped client, and the second disc is just as thorough in discussing the making of the film. Get comfortable for "Vengeance Is Mine," an hour-plus "making of" featurette that covers the violence from every angle. A former FBI agent spins gruesome, real-life tales of Mexico City abductions, location scouts travel by helicopter to avoid the crowds, and director Tony Scott tells his own horror story about being attacked on-set by a gang of meth'ed-out teens. There is a shitload of deleted scenes complete with Scott's commentary, including more killing, more screwing, and an alternate ending penned by Denzel himself. And for tech buffs, "Pita's Abduction" offers the script, storyboards, and multi-angle final cuts of the pivotal moment in the movie that turned Denzel from a babysitter into a killer. Aw, just like sis.
