What It Really Is: An Ivan Reitman comedy that’s been handed down from generation to generation. It’s dated and disjointed, but Bill Murray is in awesome form and holds it together putting it in close proximity to Animal House and Caddyshack. Plus there’s a hot dog eating contest. That’s all a movie needs to get on our good side.

Nice Fros, Bros: Seriously, check out those afros. Super sweet, right?

Does Blu-ray Make a Difference? Compared to new high-tech movies that weren’t filmed on shoestring budgets in the 70s, it looks pretty bad. Compared to the prints of Meatballs we’ve seen on VHS, DVD and cable, it’s a revelation.
