Ben Stiller returns to the role that launched a 1,000 horrible neurotic knock-offs in Meet the Fockers, a sequel that shamelessly milks laughs out of new baby characters, new pet characters, and Barbra Streisand. Now that Greg (Stiller) has finally won over his fiancée, Pam (Teri Polo), and her parents (Robert DeNiro and Blythe Danner), it's time for her parents to [spoiler alert!] meet the Fockers (Dustin Hoffman and Streisand). As deemed necessary by comedy-writing guidelines, one set of parents are uptight and the other set are free spirits, creating enough awkward moments for Stiller to drum up laughs by bumbling, stumbling, and stuttering through the in-law meet-and-greet. Hoffman and Streisand will their way to laughs by playing off the wound-up DeNiro character while the rest of the cast hold their straight faces amidst all the potty humor. None of this is groundbreaking comedic gold, but there are enough slapstick, toilet, and "Focker sounds like fucker!" jokes for you, your family, and your family's Barbra Streisand fan club to enjoy.
