Keanu Reeves as a fiendishly cunning psycho killer who gets off taunting the police with his bloody brilliance? You read it right, and he’s as unconvincing as you’d imagine. David Griffin (Reeves) began his rampage in Los Angeles, and investigating the crimes drove Detective Jack Campbell (James Spader) to a nervous breakdown. Now Campbell’s moping around Chicago, popping tranquilizers, and seeing a pretty shrink (Marisa Tomei)…until the photos of soon-to-be-strangled girls start arriving. Reeves aside, this isn’t the worst serial killer picture in the world. But you’ve seen it all before, except maybe Spader mainlining migraine medicine into his groin. And you may not want to see that.
