Bedazzled

A great date movie, the lighthearted Bedazzled surprised us with some big laughs. You’ll score points with your lady friend by chuckling along with the romantic bumblings of Elliot Richards (Brenden Fraser), while also getting to ogle the Devil (Liz Hurley) as she dons various skimpy costumes, including a leather catsuit, a cheerleader outfit, and a naughty schoolgirl uniform—God help us.

Director Harold “Egon” Ramis (Groundhog Day and Analyze This) scores another winning comedy, and although this flick doesn’t tread over any new territory, it zips along at a brisk pace and keeps the laughs coming. Thankfully, there are more jokes than the ones given away in the trailer. You’ll find Elliot’s wishes inventive, funny, and perhaps oddly familiar. Of course, we would have wasted one of our wishes asking Liz to put on the schoolgirl uniform one last time.
