Nothing says “Chick Flick” like “Starring Drew Barrymore.” Except maybe “Directed by Penny Marshall,” or “The story of a single mother’s struggle to…” or “Based on a true story.” Riding in Cars with Boys has them all.

If you must escort your estrogen-mad girlfriend, know that Riding is a no-win situation. Cute kids, men crying, and the exploration of mother-son relationships will prove one of two things, neither of which is flattering: You are an insensitive asshole, or you are a blubbering weenie. So, weenie, what’s it gonna be?

As for us, we’re waiting for the inevitable porn title Riding Boys in Cars.
