If you think this is just another stupid kids movie with talking dogs, you’re wrong. It’s a really stupid kids movie with no talking dogs. It turns out all the pup banter in the ads was taken from a two-minute dream sequence, played up in a deceptive way to pull in the kiddies. The rest of the movie is dominated by “Oscar winner” Cuba Gooding Jr., in all his goofy glory, proving to the world that pratfalls aren’t always funny. Finally, if you saw the trailer and thought sled dogs drinking cocktails sounded like a perfect compliment to some wacky tobaccy, think again, because even if the appearance of Sisqo isn’t enough of a buzz-kill, the cries of “Mommy, why aren’t the dogs talking?” certainly will be.
