Fox’s return to animation after the crash and burn that was Titan A.E. is a pretty good computer-animated farce featuring cute animals, cute kids, and cute action. While it doesn’t quite have enough meat the satisfy the adults in the audience, it’s something the kids will eat up.

The story revolves around a human baby who, during a sabretooth tiger attack, is separated from its tribe and lost in the icy wilderness. It gets adopted by a goofy sloth (voiced by John Leguizamo), a bitter wooly Mammoth (Ray Romano), and a duplicitous sabretooth tiger (Denis Leary). The adventure is a little too similar to Monster’s Inc. at parts (Leguizamo and Romano have a less-friendly version of Billy Crystal and John Goodman’s relationship), but the fact that little kids and circus carnies love repetition will definitely work in its favor. There are a few quick gags aimed at anyone past puberty, but odds are the non-parental of you out there won’t be heading out to see this.
