About three jokes into Sorority Boys, we were about to cash it in. The frat house’s letters are “KOK”? And the hot sorority is “Triple Pi”? Oh, and the not-hot sorority is “DOG”? Ha. Ha. Ahem. But, since we couldn’t leave (why did we have to sit in the center of the row? Damn!), we decided to entertain ourselves in the usual way: Dreaming of getting Wild On! somewhere with Brooke Burke. But then something happened. We chuckled. And then we chuckled again. And before we knew it, we settled into this dumb-as-shit comedy and enjoyed ourselves.

You know the plot: Three dudes—Barry Watson (Seventh Heaven), Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), and Harland Williams (Half Baked)—have to dress as girls in order to worm their way back into their frat’s good graces. (You see, they get kicked out, so they have to disguise themselves in order to sneak back in undetected, and…oh, you’ll figure it out.) The movie’s laughs come mostly from Williams (the gum-on-the-dress gag had us laughing for a good few minutes), and we can’t get too down on a frat movie that at least works in cameos from Greg Marmalard (James Daughton), Douglas Neidermeyer (Mark Metcalf), Dean Wormer (John Vernon), and Flounder himself (Stephen Furst). You won’t be laughing your ass off, but if you give it a chance you’ll have fun.
