Would you buy a ticket if Madison Square Garden advertised, “Hey, we know the Knicks suck now, but come and watch a digitally remastered broadcast of the 1973 championship game in lieu of the Knicks-Raptors matchup tonight!” No, of course you wouldn’t. So rather than creating good new movies, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola remind you of their past glories by slapping lame CGI window-dressing onto the films that made them. Sorry, Steve, but no matter how much we loved E.T. as kids, you can’t distract us from the schlock that was A.I. Leave your past movies alone. They’re fine. How about a fucking Raiders of the Lost Ark deluxe DVD box set? There’s a better use of your time and money.
