Men in Black II

Men in Black II will undoubtedly make millions, and some of the laughs, including a hilarious appearance by Michael Jackson, may even make the film seem worth it. Ultimately, though, you won’t be able to deny that the idea seems played. The boys (Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones) are back in town to kick more alien booty. This time, however, the booty is especially appealing, as it’s attached (in most scenes anyway) to former Maxim cover girl Lara Flynn Boyle. Rosario Dawson (Josie and the Pussycats) plays the doe-eyed love interest—in all the role’s one-dimensional glory. We could go on about the nauseatingly cute alien dog or the heinously ubiquitous product placement (a Burger King and a Sprint store inside the MIB headquarters—what is this, the Mall of America?), but you probably could’ve guessed most of it anyway. Buy your ticket, eat your popcorn, and enjoy bitching about the comparatively lame special effects later.
