On the heels of the surprisingly successful Freaky Friday, reigning tween queen Lindsay Lohan is at it again, serving up another plastic performance in Disney’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Lohan plays Lola, a New York City gal who is forced to move to the cultural wasteland of suburban New Jersey. For Lola, leaving everything she loves behind is totally, like, the worse thing ever, and to make things worse, her favorite band is, like, breaking up. In typical teen fashion, Lola quickly makes friends with the wrong crowd (i.e., the nerds) and pisses off the popular bitch. Confessions then makes a wrong turn in Newark, and Lola convinces her straitlaced pal to travel with her to New York. The two attempt to crash the farewell performance of their favorite band, only to end up chasing a drunken rock star (Adam Garcia) through the streets of SoHo. By the end of the movie, we learn that when you’re happy, the whole world is one big city adventure. But what would make us happy is less drama and more catfights to let out all of that pent-up teen angst.
