When high-flying Manhattan fashion agent Helen Harris (Kate Hudson) loses her sister and brother-in-law in a car accident, her glamorous world is thrown into turmoil. (We weren't feeling so hot ourselves.) Through the will proceedings, she learns that she is now entrusted with caring for the deceased's three children, and it quickly becomes apparent that balancing haute couture with Home Depot is no easy task—especially when dealing with a rebellious, boy-crazy teenager, a bitchy boss, and the attentions of the randy local pastor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding's John Corbett). Warm, glowing, and fuzzy, this feel-good tale of familial triumph will help you forget about all those beatings from sis and hours spent locked under the stairs. But its lack of edge, direction, or face-saving nudity will ultimately reaffirm what we've always suspected: You can't choose your family, but you can choose your films.
