Wes Craven is losing his scary movie touch—PG-13 means no blood, no sex scenes, and no bloody sex scenes—and has found himself resorting to cheap tricks like frantic jump-cuts to hide the gruesome kills and the hiring of Scott Baio to play himself. (In fairness, it's a role he was born to play.) Craven's updated take on the half-man, half-wolf tale doesn't have half the smarts of his Scream horror spoofs, and we've seen scarier monsters on E! (Take that, Joan Rivers.) It all starts when brother Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg) and sister Ellie (Christina Ricci) get touched by a wolf while witnessing a brutal mauling in the woods. Not long after the event, strange things start happening—better reflexes, heightened sense of smell, Craig Kilborn cameos. The rest of the flick involves the two confused hairballs using every werewolf cliché under the full moon to end the curse and get back to their normal, fur-free lives. Unless you like your horror flicks filled with more unintentional laughs than jumps, we suggest you stay home and rent something more terrifying instead—like Teen Wolf Too.
