Word has it that moviegoers passed out when they first saw Hostel—and it’s not hard to see why. This movie will challenge everything you know about horror films. Two skirt-chasing friends backpack through Europe and end up in Slovakia, looking for "the fuck of a lifetime." But their dream of super hot sex with nubile Europeans goes horribly wrong, as they instead wind up in a torture chamber that specializes in the most painful manicures and pedicures your could possibly imagine. (Pack a barf bag: The scenes of cutting and slicing would make Jeffrey Dahmer wince.) While gory, Hostel is also full of style, great European locations, and enough patience to set up its story and make us care about the characters that are getting carved up like a side of beef at Sizzler. It also doesn’t hurt that the film is cast with some of the most beautiful butt-naked women we’ve seen in a movie all year. (Disclaimer: This is the first movie of 2006.)
