In most sports films, handicapped people serve as little more than inspirational mascots. (See Cuba Gooding Jr. in Radio, Adam Sandler in The Waterboy, Tim Robbins’ throwing motion in Bull Durham.) But in Murderball, an 86-minute documentary about the Paralympics, these crips do more than drool on the sidelines—they play rugby in giant steel wheelchairs! You know, when they’re not screaming obscenities, driving cars, and having raunchy sex. After watching this hilarious (and totally riveting) spectacle, you’ll never look at someone in a wheelchair again without feeling compelled to tackle them.
