In the middle of the great American farmland, there exists a nerd by the name of Napoleon Dynamite. He loves to draw unicorns and talk about “ligers,” he has mad nun-chucks skills, and his brother mail-orders a time machine that vibrates his balls. He and his wig-wearing friend Pedro live in a strange ’70s world of dorkdom, full of some of the weirdest laughs in recent years. You’d think an indie film full of geeks would be something to hate, but it’s surprising how much Napoleon’s asthmatic drooling is actually funny—and Pedro’s a silent comic genius. (And we didn’t even mention the American-flag-pants-wearing kung fu man.) A five-minute epilogue called “Wedding of the Century” gives you a little extra Napoleon for the road, plus there’s a gaggle of deleted scenes to keep you nerdy.
