After discovering clues on a dollar bill, Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) goes on a wild hunt for treasure hidden by the Founding Fathers, who left a map on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Naturally, Gates must team up with a government official (Diane Kruger), steal the document this great nation was founded on, and take home the loot. Yeah, that’ll hold up in court. While enjoyable, the movie was as predictable as a dot-to-dot puzzle. Thankfully, the extras are a bounty of goodness, including a mini-documentary on real-life treasure hunters and a feature on cryptography—and that’s before you get to the standard extras.
